Vladvin: Arena 3/3

Arena went better this week… which is good because last week was abysmal.  Without further ado:

2v2 Shadow Priest and BM Hunter

  1. Ruins – BM Hunter x 2 – Loss – This was an interesting pair.  I’m guessing they own against 2 casters with Indimidation x 2.  As it was they split their efforts, one for me and the other for Bob.  I couldn’t do a darn thing.  Bob got his oponent down but had about 10% of his health left.  It was suprisingly close but we lost in the end.
  2. Nagrand – Resto Shaman/Prot Warroir – Win – We got the warrior into a trap and very quickly burned the Shaman down.  I’m fairly sure he just stood there and took the beating.  We took our time with the Warrior still in the trap.  I got in range, and right after Bob’s first shot that broke the trap I feared him.  He actually took a long time to kill.  His health kept going up.  I’m guessing he was hitting every button that he had, but we got him down.
  3. Ruins – BM Hunter/Holy Pally – Win – The hunter came after me, I poped out and healed myself while Bob burned him down.  The Pally was easy after that.  We just had to wait for his bubble to wear off 🙂
  4. Nagrand – Shadow Priest/Affliction Warlock – Win – They focus fired Bob, we focus fired the Lock.  Lock went down then Bob went down.  I flat outgeared the Priest.  I may not have PvP, but T5 will out damage T4 any day of the week.  I was actually really interesting, we were casting the same spells at the same time but everything of mine hit for more.
  5. BEM – Sublety Rogue/Disc Priest – Loss – We had the Rogue down… he must have Vanished or used one of his MANY “I Win” buttons because he came back and killed us once we started working on the Priest.
  6. BEM – Comabe Rogue/Destro Lock – Win – I got feared then stunlocked… Bob killed both of them… He rocks… I suck…
  7. BEM – Affliction Warlock x 2 – Win – I dotted both of them and Bob picked one at random to focus fire.  They went down quick.  The funny thing is that their DOT’s killed me while I was looking at the summary screen.
  8. Nagrand – Demonology Warlock/Disc Priest – Loss – We killed the Lock but between his dots and and Felguard I died.  Bob couldn’t quite take down the priest.  We should have worked on the Priest first, and Bob forgot to Arcane Shot him…  we played it wrong.
  9. Nagrand – Frost Mage/Sublety Rogue – Loss – We’re fairly sure this was a “buy your arena rating” team.  The Rogue did nothing but Sap me and the Mage just pwned us both.  It was ugly… get out of our bracket!
  10. Ruins – Feral and Resto Druids – Win – They both went Kitty form and stealthed up.  Luckily the one that fell into the trap was the Feral one.  The Resto got confused when he got alone and just watched us kill him.  The Feral went down quicky without a healer.

I would have liked for it to go a little better.  Matches 5 and 8 we should have won, we just played them wrong.  We need to be better about identifying and killing the healer first.  I need to be quicker to pop out and heal when the situation warrants.

We went 6-4 for the night, gaining 24 points (1441 to 1465).

Just read over your #3. You do know that Mass Dispell gets rid of bubbles? And while on topic of pallys, their Wings as well.

    Happy hunting.

I did know that… just didn’t think of it at the moment. We only had to wait a few seconds anyway.

    Thanks for the tip!!

  3. As a BM Hunter I’m wondering why Intimidation would have any affect on a caster? It’s a pure threat generating spell and it should have no affect on a player. Now- on a lock/hunter pet, that might work if they haven’t told it to attack anything else and it’s on defensive, but any BM hunt worth his salt moves intimidation, distracting shot, and misdirect from his bar during arena fights. did you mean Beastial Wrath/Beast within? Just wondering….

Great to see other teams’ areana insights! we are having a lot of fun with it! keep it up!

    @Chuck and Vixenytli
Maybe I have the wrong word, but whatever it was stunned me and interrupted casting. I could have misunderstood Bob when he told me what happened.

    Thanks for the comment!

No, you’re quite right Vladvin. Intimidation also offers a 3 second stun and is very useful in PvP when used correctly! 🙂
